Born and raised in South Jersey, Blair has always had a desire to draw. He spent many years lending his talents to any friends or projects that needed a willing artist. After many failed attempts at deciding on how to best pursue an art career, Blair set his pencil aside and took a different path in life. Thankfully after almost nine years, life and the failing economy intervened. Blair was given the opportunity to return to his artistic roots and given the chance to really explore what he wanted to do with his skills. After taking a year to retrain his drawing hand via his daily sketch blog, Draw, Blair! DRAW!, he is ready to get back into the proverbial ring.
Whiz!Bam!Pow! is his first foray into a full blown comic and he could not be more excited to be involved in such a unique project.
Philly native Paul Montgomery holds a B.S. (yes, truly) in Screenwriting and Playwriting from Drexel University, where he interned for The Painted Bride Quarterly. He writes the occasional magic show event listing for Philadelphia Weekly. His primary role is as staff writer and regular podcast contributor/producer for the comic discussion site iFanboy.com and its parent company, the digital comics provider Graphic.ly. His first professional comic credit (as story editor for the short “Spirit Room” by Peter Bergting) appears in the Eisner Award winning Popgun volume 3. He hopes to script his own comic projects sooner than later, both creator-owned and, if he gets his act together, within the pages of Action Comics.
Paul’s long tormented his friends with late-night mp3 attachments of audio oddities, from high school era comedy sketches to a host of podcast appearances and Internet radio dramas. Along with David Accampo, he co-hosts Fuzzy Typewriter, a podcast dedicated to story, storytellers, art and artists. The two also collaborated on Wormwood: a serialized mystery, a podcast drama David co-created with Jeremy Rogers. Paul also frequents The Deceptionists: Truth Through Fiction, a writing workshop in podcast form. He’s provided voice over narration for a handful of Kickstarter campaigns for crowd-sourced comic projects, but Whiz!Bam!Pow! sees his first outing as a feature actor in an audio drama.
This one’s a dream fulfilled.
KATE DAWSON (@chickenkate) is MARGOT BELMONT
Kate moved from Champaign, Illinois to NYC in 1996 to be on the stage! She made her Broadway debut in 1997 playing Emily (Scrooge’s fiancé) for three seasons in A Christmas Carol sharing the stage with several Scrooge’s over the years, including Roddy McDowall, Hal Linden, Frank Langella, and Tim Curry. Other favorite credits include “Eileen” in Wonderful Town (opposite Lucie Arnaz & Cliff Bemis, directed by Don Amendolia), “Lili” in Carnival! “Lydia” in The Rivals, and “The Wardrobe Mistress” in Enter the Guardsman (Off-Broadway). She has worked regionally at the 7 Angels Theatre, the Coconut Grove Playhouse, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Stages St. Louis, readings at the Manhattan Theatre Club, and the Public Theatre, among others.
Kate’s voice can be heard in numerous movies and TV shows, most notably as Faith Hill’s “moment of ecstasy” in The Stepford Wives, as well as Sex In The City, Chicago, Two Weeks Notice, Intolerable Cruelty, The Devil Wears Prada, Failure to Launch, Hollywoodland, Evening, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, The Sentinel (appropriately), Marley & Me, and Amelia, among others. After years of performing in other people’s shows, Kate got the writing bug. In 2009 and 2010 she wrote, performed and produced her original one woman show The A**hole in My Head, garnering much critical acclaim and four encore runs!
Kate just completed recording her debut CD with all the songs from her show. The CD was crowdfunded through Rockethub.com. To promote her project she started a web-series appropriately titled “Web-ASS-odes“, which can be found on Youtube. Kate continues to battle it out with the “a**hole” both onstage and off… and she is currently working on the sequel.
Kate is thrilled to be a part of Whiz!Bam!Pow!
