Nov 23, 2010   //   by Tyler   //   Blog, Uncategorized  //  1 Comment

Tyler just made his return appearance on Wayne Clingman’s “Indy Film Wisconsin” (the site of his first Whiz!Bam!Pow! interview (way back in… October) to chat Whiz!Bam!Pow! progress, the IndieGoGo campaign, and creative responsibility.  Many thanks Wayne (and to guest caller – and WBP supporter – Petra Cahill)!

Have a listen!

Tyler returned to his blogazine, Multi-Hyphenate with an article on the realities of a crowdfunding campaign, “Dispatches from the Crowfunding Trenches.”

Here’s an excerpt…

Last week, I was fortunate enough to chat with Wayne Clingman (@indyfilmwis) of “Indy Film Wisconsin” about my work, transmedia, Whiz!Bam!Pow! and movies in general. One of the questions that popped up, other than the “why did you pick IndieGoGo over Kickstarter” question (more on that in a future post), was “what advice do you have for filmmakers or artists getting ready to do their own crowdfunding campaign?”

I thought I’d take this chance to expand a bit on what I told Wayne, which is essentially “get a pair of brass ones.”

Actually, no. That’s pretty much it. There are people out there who can give you stats and analytics and do a much better job of it than I. Since I’m so fully entrenched in the campaign at the moment, I’m the wrong person to give you anything but emotional responses and pieces of advice to steel yourself for the emotional rollercoaster you’re about to embark on, should you choose to partake in a crowdfunding campaign.
